Studies performed in the corporate environment have shown how profound the influence of mind-states
on physical wellness and performance really is. Negative mind-states result in raised cholesterol,
glucose and blood pressure. Also found was evidence of inflammation associated with situations of
stress and depression. These negative parameters are further associated with increased coronary
artery disease and cancer. Of significance has been the finding that the conversion of negative
parameters into overt illness becomes most significant from the mid-forties. This could be regarded
as the age when the resilience of youth begins to dissipate and the time when we need to be directing
much more energy to preserving wellness.
